The Self-Help Groups, formed at the village and panchayat level, have about 10 to 15 members and each group has three leaders as the group President, Secretary and Treasurer. These leaders are elected by the group members. All groups within a single Panchayats have been clubbed together into a Panchayat Mahila Sangathan (PMS) and a group of nearby PMSs, preferably having a reasonable road and transport connectivity, are grouped together to form a Mahila Kalyan Manch (MKS). At present, there are ten MKMs with SWAN Federation is its apex umbrella organization. Each tier of organization has its own elected leaders. The main elected representatives of the SWAN Federation are Chairperson, President, Vice-President, Secretary and Treasurer. A team of technical experts, lending a supportive role to the Federation, for achieving its objectives had been conceived and are already doing their role as mentors, guides, managers, moderators and facilitators. The experts include a Chief Executive Officer, three Executive Officers some Group Coordinators and Panchayat level motivators. There is also a provision for nominating a Patron besides some advisors for the SWAN Federation.
